Outstanding French Art Deco 18ct rose gold handcrafted cuff bangle, bearing the maker’s mark of Justin Dusausoy, comprising a graduated grooved radiating top plate grain set to the central platinum insert with 25 mixed old mine and old European cut Diamonds ranging from 1.7 mm-4.5mm.in diameter approximately. Forty full drilled natural pearls ranging from 3.75-4 35mmin diameter border the top plate, the grooved band tapering from 8.5mm to 6.6mm in width bordering the top plate. Diameter 5.5 cm. Weigt 45grams.
Dusausoy began as a jeweller, gem dealer, valuer and appraiser in Lyon around 1840 moving to Paris in 1862. In1898 Justin Dusausoy took over the firm and transformed it using unconventional methods of direct, daring and innovative advertising then buying and remodelling jewellery to successfully compete with the recognised top tier firms by creating exceptional jewellery and winning customers, becoming recognised as the equal of major designers and recognised jewellery houses of the day. The design and workmanship of Dusausoy is always exceptional and jewels are highly sought after today. Justin Dusausoy was involved in an astonishing range of jewellery industry bodies. Between 1922 and 1931 Dusausoy created some of the most modern and influential jewellery of the time. He was you might say an early disrupter.
