Bracelets

An Art Deco diamond and sapphire bracelet by Tiffany & Co, the articulated and graduating bracelet mounted with old brilliant cut and French cut diamonds and old brilliant cut graduated sapphires set in platinum.

The bracelet was designed and created in the Tiffany premises then at Fifth Avenue and 37th Street New York between 1926-1929. The design is the centrepiece of the page in the Tiffany Design Book of the period. The balanced design, the fine workmanship and the quality of the sapphires reflect the importance of the piece. Tiffany by the 1920s had grown from its humble beginnings in 1837 as a fancy goods store to one of the most lauded and recognised fine jewellers in America and internationally. The contrast of colours and the narrow linear design typify Art Deco jewellery of the 1920s in a distinct break from the garland style of the Edwardian period.
