Handcrafted platinum Art Deco solitaire diamond ring featuring a diameter of 9.7mm approximately, 3.40 ct. known weight, K, VS2 transitional cut diamond, with epaulette style shoulders set with smaller Baguette and Double cut Diamonds, graded in the four claw railed mount as Colour H, Clarity VS, total estimated total weight.56 ct., the platinum edges finely millegrained and the tapering band high domed half round.

This is a particularly fine and very lovely authentic Art Deco ring. It is rare to find an Art Deco ring with such a large bright, white, transparent period diamond in excellent condition which combines a beautiful diamond with exquisite design. Often you find the diamond in a disappointing setting or a superb setting with an unattractive diamond. The Transitional Cut, the period cut in between the Old European Cut and the Modern Round Brilliant Cut is much sought after and admired, typically emitting large flashes of light. The Baguette Cut was a new cut invented to enhance the new Art Deco more geometric aesthetic in the early nineteen twenties but did not appear widely until the later twenties. Many of the loveliest and most striking of Art Deco rings combine typical Art Deco detail with a superb central stone in a deceptively simple design.
