A late 1930s large faceted oval pink topaz ring (16.5 x 10mm), bright and eye clean, in a hand pierced basket in a rubbed in setting with fine millegrain to tapered shoulders on a fine 18ct gold half round band. The majority of period pink topaz period rings are foiled in enclosed settings to enhance the richness of the colour while this ring is set in an open hand-pierced basket. The colour is very appealing and consistent so does not need this enhancement
