Vintage engagement rings

Vintage is widely used in jewellery descriptions today in Australia and worldwide. We are often asked for a vintage engagement ring. Sometimes the customer is seeking a ring with an older design not necessarily a ring from a specific period such as Antique or Art Deco. More often customers are seeking a period ring, whether it be Antique, Edwardian or Art Deco to mention just three popular periods

Vintage jewellery is jewellery older than 30 years but less than 100 years old, although usually less than 50 years old. Vintage can also be used to describe a fine jewel typical of a particular period or maker such as “vintage Cartier”. If the ring comes from a particular period it is usually described as being of this period but descriptions such as “Vintage Edwardian”  are also used to emphasize that the ring is a genuine Edwardian not a later reproduction. James Alfredson generally uses the more specific terms “authentic” or “genuine”.  All of the engagement rings from James Alfredson except the antique rings can be described as vintage and we have   listed some below.
