A pair of love token enamelled stick pins by Child & Child in the original heart shaped box

The pansy symbolised love since the French word “Penser”- to think (of you) sounded very similar and was often employed to let love be known or shown. The heart is a short hand for love that transcends ages. The ruby symbolising passion at the centre of the pansy and the diamond symbolising love and marriage above the heart further reinforce the message of love. These beautifully enamelled gem set pieces are typical of the fine and highly regarded work of famous British jewellers Child & Child, signed in the silk top (not photographed) of the original fitted and heart shaped green leatherette and gilt embellished presentation box.
