Outstanding signed Art Deco silver bangle with various fine engine turned engraving by maker Smith & Pepper Ltd, a highly respected family jewellery business between 1899 and 1981 in Birmingham Great Britain.

The family-run firm of Smith and Pepper produced high quality jewellery in Birmingham in the factory that is now the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, for over 80 years with very few changes in working practices, equipment or the appearance of the workshop. A few years after the elderly owners locked the door and retired in 1981the factory became the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter. Today the museum is exactly as the jewellery business was left -with tools on benches, overalls hanging on coat hooks and even cups of tea. A fascinating and informative museum to visit. You can see why such attention to detail produced such finely made jewels.
