A delicate Art Deco overlaid platinum on gold diamond onyx flexible link bracelet.
The centrepiece of five graduating, pierced ,articulated panels in platinum overlaid gold with three transition cut and two old single cut diamonds in a millegrain edged “floating” octagonal setting, a small rose cut diamond in each corner to chevron shaped terminals all delineated by channels of French cut black onyx.
A most appealing and versatile Art Deco bracelet with pierced work, millegrain, geometric octagonal settings, three diamond cuts, varied heights from the “floating” settings and French cut black onyx accents ticking many of the Art Deco boxes for contemporary admirers. Onyx accents whose sombre sheen was seen as making diamonds shine out more brightly had been popular for a decade before the Art Deco period, but became one of the most popular contrasts of Art Deco jewellery. Cartier developed this theme into their distinctive panther skin jewellery and this contrast is used by many contemporary and reproduction jewellers today referencing history and introducing an enduring colour contrast.
