An Art Deco Australian diamond brooch signed “Palfrey” set to the centre with an early brilliant cut diamond  of estimated weight 2.12 carats and further set with early brilliant and single cut diamonds in a platinum topped 18 carat white gold cut out and millegrain edged rectangular setting with an estimated total diamond weight of 4.51 carats.

G. H. Palfrey was a fine jeweller working in Melbourne between 1897 and 1927. Originally at 317 Little Collins Street he moved to Howey Place where James Alfredson is located at 26 Howey Place. Palfrey’s shop said to have been located on the corner of the Capitol Arcade was staffed by his three lovely daughters whose charm attracted many customers.
